What makes our solar water pumps different from our competitors, is that they come with a battery backup! Super important, because without this, any partial shadow from clouds, trees, even walking past, will switch the pumps off! On cloudy days, solar pumps without a battery backup simply will not work at all. And that's not fun for anyone
Many of our customers with fish like the added security of knowing that if there is a power blackout, their solar pump with the battery will continue to oxygenate the water all day and well into the night. Crucial on hot summer days especially
PondMAX PS10000 Floating Solar Fountain Pump A floating solar fountain pump designed to aerate ponds and dams where access to mains power is not available....
Solar pond pumps are a great way of getting your fish pond water moving and oxygenated without using electricity.
They are great for people who cannot get power near the pond and those who want to avoid relying on the electricity grid.
Most of our models all come complete with a quality solar panel and a battery, meaning they can pump water into the night.
Most shops only sell the pond pump and panel, without the battery!
Our solar-powered pond pumps vary in water flow, so please read the flow rates and maximum head heights carefully. Keep in mind that the max head height is the maximum height at which that particular pump will actually stop flowing. So if you have a 1-metre head waterfall, then do not get a pump with a maximum head height of 1 metre!
A solar pond pump and filter is also great insurance for your prized pond fish’s health. On very hot days, oxygen levels within a pond can drop. If you have a blackout on a very hot day, and lose all aeration and water flow, then fish can start dying very quickly! Solar is the best way to keep the water well-oxygenated in the meantime and is a must-have for all pond fish enthusiasts. The best way to do this is with a solar air pump.
Ideally, pond filtration systems in ponds should run 24/7 so we normally do not recommend solar for pond filtration where power is available nearby.
If you are unsure about which solar-powered pump will be right for your fish pond or water feature then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, either via phone or by dropping us an email.
It’s what we do! Save energy, environmentally friendly!
