Tap water is treated with chlorine or chloramine to make it suitable for human consumption, but these chemicals are harmful to fish, invertebrates, and the beneficial bacteria that sustain a healthy biofilter. Safe™ neutralises these compounds on contact, making tap water safe to use immediately. It also contains a binder that renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to process and remove them naturally.
