The OASE pondovac classic is a quality German made fish pond vacuum cleaner, boasting great suction and a tough exterior.
We have used this product extensively in our pond maintenance service, with great success.
We use these fish pond vacuums in our pond maintenance jobs and could not do it without them!
It offers sufficient power and the required accessories, in order to free garden ponds, and pools, of all debris.
Unlike other fish pond vacuums, this vacuum has two chambers that take turns filling up and discharging, meaning that it is continuous suction. This saves time, so great for the professional!
On This Page
| Improved Aesthetics | Removes dark sludge and muck, keeping your pond clear and looking its best. |
| Healthier Water | Reduces ammonia spikes, algae blooms and cloudy water caused by decomposing sludge. |
| Odour Reduction | Eliminates the unpleasant smells associated with anoxic build-up at the pond base. |
| Better Oxygenation | Prevents oxygen levels from dropping due to the effect of decomposing organic matter. |
| Free Fertiliser! | The nutrient-rich waste water discharged during vacuuming is fantastic for your garden. |
💧 Tip: Most pond vacuums will drain some pond water as they work, this is completely normal and actually a great opportunity to do a water change at the same time. Always remember to use a dechlorinator when refilling your pond to keep your fish safe!
| Single-Chambered e.g. Pondovac Classic, PondMax PV30HD | The chamber fills up with waste water until full, at which point the engine switches off for approximately 20 seconds to allow the waste to gravity-discharge via a large pipe at the base of the unit. After 20 seconds, the engine turns back on and you continue vacuuming. We recommend directing this discharge water onto the garden, it's packed with nutrients your plants will love! |
| Double-Chambered e.g. OASE Pondovac 4 | Uses two alternating chambers so that while one is discharging, the other is still collecting, meaning the vacuum runs continuously with no interruptions. Significantly more powerful, less prone to clogging from sticks and leaves, and ideal for larger ponds or regular use. |
| Our Go-To Recommendation OASE Pondovac 4 | If you have a large pond, are time-poor, or clean ponds regularly; this is the one. It runs continuously, has significantly more power, and is much less easily clogged by sticks and leaves. This is the vacuum we use on our own maintenance jobs. |
| Mid range option OASE Pondovac Classic | If the Pondovac 4 is a bit out of your price range, we recommend the Pondovac Classic. Not as powerful and only single-chambered, but still very effective. It's German-engineered with the good OASE warranty period. |
| Budget Option PondMax PV30HD | A solid single-chambered option for smaller ponds or occasional maintenance. The OASE vs PondMax toss-up comes down mostly to preference between German vs Chinese manufacturing. The PV30HD does a great job for the price and still has a solid warranty on it! |
