API pH Up – Freshwater Aquarium pH Raising Solution

Water that’s too acidic can stress fish just as much as water that’s too alkaline. pH sits on a scale from 0 to 14, with 0 being the most acidic and 14 the most alkaline, and every species has its own comfort zone. A community tank of tropical fish generally does best around a neutral 7.0, goldfish and livebearers prefer slightly higher at 7.5, Amazonian species like angelfish and neon tetras favour a softer 6.5 to 6.8, and mollies and swordtails sit closer to 7.2 to 7.5.

API pH Up is a phosphate-free solution that raises aquarium pH to the desired level, safely for both fish and plants. It’s suited to new aquarium setups, routine pH correction, or after a water change, since pH can drift over time as fish waste, uneaten food and fresh tap water enter the system. Test your water first with an API pH Test Kit to know exactly how much adjustment is needed.
