Hikari First Bites is a scientifically formulated diet developed to give newborn fish the exacting nutritional balance they need during the earliest stages of life. It’s built on superior protein sources to support excellent body form, natural colouration and proper organ development, giving fry the best possible start.

This sinking granule uses a unique low-heat production process that helps preserve vitamins, nutrients and amino acids through processing. Suitable for both livebearers and egglayers, in both freshwater and saltwater setups. Once your fry have grown past this stage, transition them onto our Hikari Micro Pellets. Newborn fish of all types, including livebearer fry and freshly hatched egglayer fry, in both freshwater and saltwater setups.

Feeding

Feed as many times daily as possible, offering only what fry can completely consume within about a minute. For mid-water and bottom feeding fry, soak the food in a cup of aquarium water first to help it sink more readily. Avoid overfeeding, as excess food can affect water quality.
