Aqua One Filter Wool is a high-quality mechanical and biological filtration media that works hard to keep your aquarium water clean and clear. Fine enough to catch particles that sponge media misses, filter wool acts as an excellent final polishing stage in any filtration setup, trapping fine waste and debris while simultaneously providing surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise.
Did you know we actually use this exact product in all of our sump set ups?
| Fine Mechanical Filtration | Removes finer particles than standard sponge media — ideal as a polishing layer for crystal-clear water. |
| Biological Filtration Support | Provides excellent surface area for beneficial nitrifying bacteria to colonise, supporting a healthy and stable nitrogen cycle. |
| Versatile | Suitable for canister filters, gravity filters, sump systems, pond filtration and more, it can be cut to size as needed. |
Tip: Filter wool is best placed as the last stage of your filtration before water returns to the tank. After your coarse sponge and biological media. This way it catches the finest remaining particles without clogging prematurely. Rinse in old tank water when it starts to discolour and replace when flow begins to restrict noticeably.
