API pH Down – Freshwater Aquarium pH Reducing Solution

pH is the measure of a water’s acidity, on a scale from 0 to 14, where 0 is the most acidic and 14 is the most alkaline. Different fish require different pH levels to thrive: a pH of 7.0 suits a community aquarium with a variety of tropical fish, goldfish and livebearers prefer around 7.5, many Amazonian fish such as angelfish and neon tetras do best at 6.5 to 6.8, and mollies and swordtails thrive at 7.2 to 7.5.

API pH Down is a fast-acting, phosphate and nitrate-free solution that safely lowers pH in freshwater aquariums without clouding the water or encouraging algae growth. It’s suitable for use when setting up a new aquarium, adjusting pH, or after a water change, since pH can fluctuate due to fish waste, uneaten food and the addition of tap water.
