Seachem Malawi/Victoria Buffer – pH & Carbonate Hardness Buffer for Cichlid Aquariums

Seachem Malawi/Victoria Buffer is a blend of carbonate salts formulated to replicate the water chemistry of Lake Malawi and Lake Victoria. It raises carbonate hardness (KH), increases buffering capacity and maintains a stable pH between 7.8 and 8.4 – the natural range for African cichlids from these lakes. It will not affect general hardness (GH).

For the most accurate replication of the native lake environment, use in combination with Seachem Cichlid Lake Salt and Seachem Cichlid Trace. Available in 600g, 1.2kg and 4kg.

Dosage

Dissolve the required amount in fresh water before adding to the aquarium. Use 6g (one level teaspoon) per 40 to 80 litres of aquarium water each day until the desired pH is reached. Once the target pH is stable, dose only as needed to maintain it – typically no more than once every two to three weeks.

For precise dosing, a digital spoon scale is recommended.

When to Use

• When setting up a new aquarium to establish the correct water parameters from the start.
• After water changes to restore KH and pH.
• Periodically in established aquariums to maintain stable pH and buffering capacity.
