API Deluxe pH Test Kit with Liquid Adjusters
Test and Adjust Aquarium pH Easily
The Fish Works team is pretty stoked with this product. An all-in-one, no need for 100 products, ensuring a stable pH for your aquariums. However, we know not all of our clients have aquariums, so if you need pH up or pH down in larger quantities for your pond, we have you covered!
API Deluxe pH Test & Adjuster Kit allows you to accurately test your aquarium or pond water’s pH and safely adjust it to maintain a healthy environment for your fish. This kit tests pH from 6.0–7.6 and includes bottles of pH Up and pH Down to modify water pH to the desired level.
Why Test and Adjust pH?
- Healthy fish & plants: Optimal pH ranges for most freshwater species are 6.5–7.8. Extreme pH levels (<4 or >11) can be fatal.
- Stable environment: pH fluctuations stress fish and can affect biological processes in your aquarium.
- Factors affecting pH: Animal waste, minerals, algae, and organic decomposition can alter pH levels.
Directions for Use
- Test the pH using the included liquid test solution and color chart.
- Adjust the pH gradually using the included pH Up or pH Down solutions.
- Perform regular partial water changes to help maintain stable pH levels.
Understanding pH in Aquariums and Ponds
- What is pH? A measure of water acidity or alkalinity, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 = acidic, above 7 = alkaline.
- Recommended ranges: Most freshwater fish: 6.5–7.8; African cichlids: 7.2–8.4; South American fish: 6.5–7.0.
- Importance of stability: Sudden changes stress fish and can be fatal. Adjust pH gradually using natural or chemical means.
- Maintenance tips: Partial water changes, controlling waste, and monitoring regularly help keep pH stable.
